There is more to the Skinny Beef brand, and more to the Joffer Family Ranch than just selling extremely lean ground beef. Like all individuals, and all companies, we must have a higher purpose. One of our primary goals is to build a safe home/ranch for human traffic victims. Becky and I serve on the board of a non-profit and hope to do our part in this global tragedy that has reached our shores and is happening right here in our own state at an alarming level.

While the Skinny Beef brand certainly isn't going to change the world, it can do its part to do things right. Since I was a kid, I've loved the western way of life. Whether it is ranching, riding, rodeo, or ropings, I've been a wannabe or a devotee all of my life. From pretending to be a cowboy playing the part of a western movie scene in my backyard, or roping my parent's lawn furniture, or working for my cousins 30,000+ acre ranch in South Dakota, or graduating from Cal Poly with an Agriculture Business Management degree, or to the present day fun I have competing at team roping; being involved with horses and cattle is a passion that has strangely not faded over my lifetime.

I've also been a busy sales executive for over 20 years working in the candy industry selling Jelly Belly Jelly Beans. In the candy business, I have learned a lot about consumer product introductions and know that I have a potentially huge product idea with Skinny Beef.

I've also worked out most of my life, and have always been in search of low fat, healthy protein sources, and that is one of the reasons I'm so excited about Skinny Beef premium ground beef...it's absolutely the leanest, best tasting ground beef I've ever had! When I got my first lab results back that showed how extremely lean our beef really was, I knew that I had stumbled upon a huge opportunity. Burgers without all the fat? That taste great too? Are you kidding me? What could be better?

I'd like to see new ranches start up and start raising skinny cattle in key locations across the US to supply this growing demand for healthy beef. I'd like to see SkinnyBeef.com become an online sensation and have our products delight our customers so much that the popularity of the product goes viral through social media, and word of mouth (mainly because we don't have an ad budget yet! :))
